Preproduction for a a visual essay based on an excerpt from an Ira Glass Interview
This is honesty one of the funnest projects I've worked on in a while.
This project really let me push my drawing and composition skills.
Even just a year and a half ago I felt like drawing just wasn't for me, but since then I've started drawing more and I finally feel like I'm starting to get to a place where I'm personally content with my drawings.

I love doing cel animation and hadn't gotten to do any in a while! This was also my first foray into character cel animation and i'm pretty happy with how it turned out.
I really wanted to try to make a story that was analogous to the subject matter Ira Glass was talking about. Looking at it now that it's finished, it draws a bit on the old western trope of a lone traveler taking a child under their wing, which wasn't intentional but certainly welcomed.
